Clive Miller MBA, BA (Hons) Dip TP has over 25 years urban and rural experience of planning, economic regeneration, and project management in the public and private sectors.
Since founding Clive Miller & Associates in 2003, Clive has continued to have an excellent track record of identifying needs and opportunities, negotiating solutions and getting things done for his clients, often in complex inter-agency and public/private sector contexts.
Clive is proud of his recent achievements and committed to offering a professional consultancy and service, whilst maintaining an open, friendly and flexible approach in responding to his clients’ requirements.
He is delighted to be able to continue to provide and further develop these services through the company Clive Miller Planning Ltd, formed in 2017 in partnership with his long standing associate Helen Lazenby.

Helen Lazenby BSc (Hons) DipTP MRTPI has worked in rural and urban planning since 1999. Prior to joining CMA in 2004, she worked at the Planning Inspectorate providing assistance on technical and planning matters during Local Plan Inquiries and in the preparation of Inspectors’ final reports. She has also previously worked as a development control officer in a Somerset local authority. At CMP Helen deals with all types of planning applications and appeals, taking projects from the initial appraisal stage, briefing and co-ordinating the work of architects and many other specialists, through to obtaining the grant of detailed permissions and appearing as an expert witness at Public Inquiries and Hearings.
She has a particular interest in planning law, rural planning policy and negotiating good quality design solutions in sensitive locations.
Mike Williams

Mike Williams MRTPI is a very experienced development control expert. He has previously been the Head of Planning Control in a Shire district. He has personally dealt with the whole range of development proposals including major housing, commercial, industrial and agricultural developments as well as other complex and sensitive proposals. He has acted as an expert witness at Hearings and Inquiries since 1973 and brings a wealth of knowledge, skill and experience to all aspects of preparing applications and appeals together with negotiating solutions in complex cases. He has a particular interest in all aspects of design, rural development issues, enforcement and the regeneration of previously developed sites.
Bryn Kitching

Bryn Kitching BSc (Hons) DipTP MRTPI graduated from Cardiff University in 1999 with a degree and post graduate diploma in City and Regional Planning. He spent the next 20 years working in the public sector before joining CMP in 2020. During that time he led planning teams and dealt with a large range of planning applications from small scale domestic developments through to major urban development projects are large scale housing developments. As the lead officer for planning at committees, he understands the planning system as well as the structures and procedures that govern how councils make decisions.
He is an effective negotiator and solution finder, with both urban and rural planning knowledge. He is a chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and has even provided rural planning advice to the storey line writers of The Archers.
Freya Bohea

Freya Bohea has been passionately involved and working in the heritage sector for over 13 years. She has a BSc. degree in Heritage Conservation, a MSc. degree in the Conservation of Historic Buildings and is also a full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC). Her work to date has been for the National Trust and private owners. This has involved researching and writing Conservation Management Plans, undertaking Historic Building Surveys and producing Heritage Statements/Heritage Impact Statements for planning and listed building consent applications. Having owned a listed building that required complete renovation herself, she is very sympathetic to the challenges that owners of heritage assets face. She is therefore keen to help achieve viable and sustainable solutions which balance the needs of the owner with the desire and responsibility to retain the special significance of the heritage asset(s) involved.

Denise has worked as an administrator and personal assistant in the public and private sectors since 1997.
We are delighted to have Denise back on the team here, having worked with us previously for several years during the 2000s.
She is particularly experienced in local government policies and processes and deals with all our research into planning projects, legislation and policies as well as running the office accounts and admin systems, keeping the web site up to date and tweeting about latest company news.
